When Did That Happen? My Fabulous Car Wash Misunderstanding

Well, shoot — I somehow missed this one.

Yesterday, in my usual rush to get the car cleaned before picking up clients, I pulled into the car wash at West Charleston and Fort Apache — only to discover it was closed for renovations. To be fair, this was my favorite one because you didn’t have to drive onto that conveyor belt thing (which, if we’re honest, gives me mild anxiety every time).

Since I like to have a nice, clean car when I’m meeting out-of-town clients, I headed to the one I know best — next to 24 Hour Fitness in The Trails Village in Summerlin. Yes, I’m sure there was probably one closer, but not all car washes do the interior these days, and dressed for an appointment, I wasn’t about to start vacuuming my own car. Bougie? Maybe. Realistic? Absolutely.

So there I am, surviving the conveyor belt, heading inside to grab my sugar-free Red Bull (no judgment, please), when the cashier asks if I’d like to use my points. I proudly pull out my Fabulous Freddy’s card… only to be told, “Oh, this is a Terrible’s now.”

Wait, what?!

No wonder the woman at the front didn’t tell me to “Have a Fabulous Day.” That should’ve been my first clue. Apparently, Terrible’s quietly bought three Fabulous Freddy’s locations back in May, including the one in Summerlin, and somehow, I totally missed the memo.

(If you did too, don’t worry — I’ve got you. Here’s the Las Vegas Review-Journal article with the full scoop.)

Naturally, I went with it — even picked up a cute Terrible’s hat, because honestly, it felt wrong not to.

And while we’re on the subject of local updates, has anyone been to Suncoast Hotel & Casino lately? They’re doing some major renovations over there, and it’s looking really nice.

So if you’ve been feeling a little out of the loop lately — you’re not alone. I’m right there with you, sugar-free Red Bull in hand, just trying to keep up with Vegas one car wash (and casino refresh) at a time.
