A holiday week, a legendary Vegas restaurant, and a little delicious insider intel.
Heading into Thanksgiving, I thought we’d take a quick detour from real estate — because let’s be honest, this week is all about food, family, travel, and the soft permission to slow down for just a minute.
And right on cue, OpenTable just released its 2025 list of the Top 100 Restaurants in the USA — a list not built by critics or food writers, but by real diners across the country.
Real reviews.
Real demand.
Real people choosing where to spend their evenings, celebrations, and splurge nights.
And guess who made this very distinguished list representing Las Vegas?
A restaurant that is as iconic as the city itself.
The Golden Steer: A Las Vegas Legend Lands on the Top 100
The 2025 Top 100 list features the best of the best — and right there under Nevada, you’ll find The Golden Steer, the oldest continually operating steakhouse in Las Vegas.
Opened in 1958, the Golden Steer is everything you imagine when you picture “classic Vegas” before influencers and LED screens took over the Strip:
Deep red leather booths
Tuxedoed servers
Tableside Caesar salads
Flaming desserts
Twice-baked potatoes bigger than your hand
And steaks that genuinely live up to their trademarked motto:
“The Best Steaks on Earth™.”
And the nostalgia?
It’s real.
The booths are named for the legends who sat in them — Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Nat King Cole, Joe DiMaggio.
You walk in and feel the history humming under the surface.
Seeing The Golden Steer make this list feels like a tribute not just to the restaurant, but to old-school Las Vegas — the version that built the city long before social media ever discovered it.
What This Says About Las Vegas Right Now
For a city known for reinvention, we’re also a place that fiercely protects our institutions.
And for anyone thinking of moving to Vegas — especially my 50+ clients planning their next chapter — lifestyle matters as much as real estate.
Great restaurants.
Great traditions.
Great experiences.
A city that still has character, and stories, and places worth dressing up for.
This list is a reminder:
Las Vegas is a food city, a culture city, a nightlife city, a history city — and a place where you can create a life that feels exciting and interesting at any age.
Thanksgiving in Vegas Hits Differently
If you're spending Thanksgiving in Las Vegas, you already know the beauty of it:
You can be festive… or not.
Traditional… or a little rebellious.
You can cook… or you can let someone else handle the heavy lifting.
You can dress up, dress down, escape to Red Rock, go to a show, or disappear into a cozy dinner somewhere gorgeous.
Vegas gives you the freedom to celebrate however you want — and that might be the best part of living here.
